all around good beacon. simple and straight forward. great battery life and never have any questions about its reliability! not the most amazing harness but nothing wrong with it. fairly light and minimal and also releases well from the harness with a leash to assure you don’t lose it while searching. as the first beacon i used when getting into and learning about the backcountry, this was a invaluable tool and led me to so many wonderful experiences!

  2. John B

One of the easiest beacon to use, lightning-fast, great value, extremely intuitive

  3. Jon Hand

This product saved my live. I was fully buried in an R3D3 persistent slab avalanche, with my head 6′ under the snowpack for over 10 minutes. Were it not for this beacon, my friends would not have been able to locate me and I would not be here today. Thank you BCA!

Hi Jon – Thanks for the note. Would you consider allowing us to put this one our success stories page? See:

If yes, could you send us your photo, where the slide happened and conditions that day? And if you have additional photos or more details about the incident, we could run as a full blog post?

  4. Cam Dudiak

This is my favourite Avalanche transceiver I have ever used. The simple and easy to use search mode are extremely reliable, making burial searches easier and increasing the victims chances significantly. BCA’s Tracker 2 also features it’s multiple burial search feature which allows one to track the signal of two or more individual beacons at once. Another great thing about this beacon is it’s battery life; I frequently use the beacon and rarely have to replace the batteries. Finally, the carrying system for the beacon is comfortable and extremely easy to access in case of an emergency situation. Bottom line, this tracker demonstrates the most accurate search and rescue technologies out of any other on the market.

  5. Grifen Moller

This BCA Tracker 2 is the easiest transceiver to use on the market. A simple tab to go into search mode makes rescue missions a lot quicker. It fits comfortably in a pouch that goes around your upper body under your jacket. This makes it easily accessible and really comfortable. This beacon also has the multiple burial feature, which allows you to search for multiple beacons in a situation where there is multiple beacons buried at once. One thing you don’t have to worry about is battery life, I’ve brought my beacon out on many below zero days and the battery life moves maybe 1%. To sum this beacon up, it is a beacon everyone will find easy to use and will want with them whenever they’re in the backcountry.

  6. Pierce McCrerey

The Tracker series is the best line of beacons on the market. I upgraded from a DTS to a 2 last season, and went into the season with high expectations. The Tracker 2 was very intuitive, making it extremely easy to use. The accuracy and precision of the distances was great, and the batteries last a while.
