How do I calibrate the thermometer?

Under the faceplate of the thermometer (the round sticker that you can peel off) there should be a small metal screw in between the unit’s two buttons. Fill a glass with ice (preferably crushed; you’re basically trying to make slush) and some water, and swirl it around a bit, to cool the water off. You want the water/slush temperature to be as close to freezing as possible. You may want to use a medical or other type of accurate thermometer in the glass of slush to calibrate the digital snow thermometer to. Put the thermometer stem in the water and wait for the temperature reading to stabilize. Once it does, you can turn the small screw to adjust the temperature reading to 32 deg. F , or 0 deg. C , or to whatever the medical thermometer reads.
