Even though the Alpine Trekker was the first product that BCA manufactured, waaaayyyy baaacccckkk in 1994, we still get on them to make sure they can cut it. On this trip we were out to test the durability of some new plastics that will be released on next year’s model. This time of year in Colorado, it’s time to notch a few peaks off your 14′er tick list. But does 14K in elevation necessarily mean a classic descent? In many cases, yes, the big 14′ers (Maroon, N. Maroon, Pyramid, Castle, La Plata, Long’s, etc…) often involve big climbs and “extreme” descents from the summit.
