Vive la BCA! Backcountry Access going big in Europe.

Posted on January 1st, 2012 by edge | 1 response
Achtung! Allez! BCA is making a full-on assault in Europe next season. We’ve just moved into a new warehouse near Salzburg, Austria and hired a regional sales manager out of Chamonix, France. Craig Widdicombe will take BCA sales to the next level in France, Switzerland and Italy. He’ll complement the efforts of our existing sales manager for Austria and Germany, Franz Hohensinn. Craig grew up near French-speaking Leysin, Switzerland and comes to us from Heidiskis, a boutique ski maker out of nearby Vevey. He starts tomorrow!
Craig Widdecombe

Craig is a big believer in the Tracker. But we need to have a word with him about that Dakine backpack...

Starting next season, BCA will ship directly from our new Euro HQ/warehouse in Hallein, Austria to retailers in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France, and Italy. We will take over all brand promotion in these core alpine countries and bring our own flavor of education-based marketing to the European continent. Our Trackers are already strong in Europe. Now that we have CE certification for our airbags in Europe, we believe our Float program will take off over there just like it has here. “I’m so excited to be joining the BCA team,” says Craig, “And to be part of a company that not only has such an amazing product range but also takes the time to promote backcountry education and responsibility.” Craig is a passionate backcountry skier like us–and he’s well-educated in avalanche safety. Most important, he swears by his Tracker. After all, how can you sell a product unless you truly believe in it?

great news! I hope Craig can setup a refill service for float canisters near Leysin? I’d love to give mine a proper test sometime.
