TGR’s Almost Live sneak preview: Daron Rahlves charging Alaska lines (with Float 18)

Posted on August 18th, 2011 by Dave | 0 responses
Holy cow. Do you think you skied some steep lines last winter? I thought I did until I watched this teaser video from TGR. At 1:45 my stomach leapt into my throat, similar to being on a roller coaster that drops for a few seconds. It’s amazing how our sport continues to progress, as does the equipment these pro skiers are using. We were very psyched to see Daron and Sage using our Float 18 avalanche airbag packs to stay safe on the job during the making of “One for the Road.” The Float 18 is a new airbag pack from BCA that will be available this September and we’re pretty sure we nailed it: If you’re a rider who skis out of bounds at your ski area or takes an annual mechanized trip (snowcat or heli), this is the pack for you. It carries a shovel and probe without compromise, along with your lunch and an extra layer. So what I’m saying is this: if you’re hitting the backcountry from Whistler, Bridger, Baker, Kirkwood, Squaw, Mammoth, Whitewater, Crystal, Alpental, Red, Breck, Stevens Pass, Fernie, Brundage, Kicking Horse, White Pass, Telluride, Crested Butte, Loveland, Snowbird, Alta, Powder Mountain, Lake Louise, Sunshine, Alyeska, Eaglecrest, Heavenly, Aspen Mountain, Highlands, Bogus Basin, Big Sky,Whitefish, Jackson Hole, Targhee, or Stowe, this pack is for you. So what areas did I forget? Let me know and I’ll add em’ to the list. Oh, one last thing. Teton Pass Glory Bowl Booters: there’s a snowboard carry attachment available so you’re all set for those pre-work dawn patrols. This pack was aided in design by observing your actions.
